Linda Hanson dies Thursday at residence
Funeral services for Linda Hanson, 85, Rock Rapids, were held Monday morning in the Jongewaard-Stapp Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.

She died Thursday, October 11, at her residence.

Hanson was born February 12, 1894, at Luverne, Minn. She came to Lyon County in 1895. Prior to her retirement in 1944, she was a telephone operator for 29 ½ years.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the United Methodist church in Rock Rapids.

Survivors include one brother, Olaf, Beresford, S. D., and three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Moeller and Mrs. Mary Zeug, both of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Julia Durham, Lemon Grove, Calif. (Source: Reporter, Rock Rapids, IA, Mon., Oct 15, 1979, pg. 3)
