K. HANSON, SR. DIES HERE YESTERDAY
Long Time Resident Victim of Heart Disease – Is survived by Wife and Ten Children

K. Hanson, Sr., resident of this city for the past thirty years, passed away at the family home here yesterday, shortly before noon. His death was caused by heart trouble, aggravated by asthma, from which the ceased had suffered for some time. Mr. Hanson was in good health until some two months ago, when he began to fail rapidly. Bravely he remained at his work, in the Hanson Tailor shop, until Monday of this week, when he was forced to give up. From that time, he failed rapidly and lapsed into unconsciousness early yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held in this city, tomorrow, and interment will be made in Riverview cemetery here.

Kunte Hanson was born in Govik, Walders, Norway, June 16, 1857. There he made his boyhood home, and in young manhood learned the trade of a tailor. In 1883, at his home in Norway; he married Miss Julia Gilbertson, who survives him. A few years later they came to this country and settled at Beaver Creek, Minn., which was the family home until 1895, when they moved to Rock Rapids.

The children were born to this couple, all of whom are here, or will be present in time for the funeral services. They are Linda Hanson, Mrs. Joe Zeug, Olaf Hanson, Knute Hanson Jr., and Gilbert Hanson, of this city, Mrs. Julia Durham and Mrs. R. W. Moeller, of Sioux Falls, Mrs. C. L. Anderson, of Centerville, Minn., and Haus A. Hanson, of Ames. Mr. Hanson is survived by one sister who makes her home in Washington.

The deceased was one of the best-known men of Rock Rapids and his circle of friends was as great as that of his acquaintances. He was noted for his unfailing good humor; he never failed to joke with the many customers who entered his place of business each day. To his family he was a kind father, and a loving husband. He was respected by all our citizens, and his passing will cause sorrow to all.
