Mrs. Mary Walker McMahill for more than fifty years a resident of this locality, passed away at her home here last Friday morning. her death was hastened by a fall which she received on September 16. She was born at St. Louis, Mo., August 24, 1824 and was married to Mr. McMahill at pleasant Hill, Ill., on December 24, 1847. Her husband preceded her in death eleven years ago. She is survived by the following children: Matthew, John and Will of Wapello; Mrs. Anna Bishop of Muscatine, and Mrs. Lydia Whipple of Canada. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Knight on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Coggshall of the Methodist church officiating, with interment in the Wapello cemetery.
