Page 1Amy Elizabeth Hewitt, the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. I. Hewitt, was born in Morning Sun, Iowa, October 6, 1897 and died Saturday evening, October 16, 1915. As a child she grew in stature rapidly and as a consequence her strength was not commensurate with her stature. During the past several years she knew what illness was, but being of an ambitious temperament she persevered in her school duties until the day before her death. She lived long enough to "win out."
Her eighteen years were lived in this community and her amiability and popularity were attested by the great host of relatives, neighbors and friends who attended her funeral at the First Presbyterian church. She leaves to mourn her loss her father and mother, her sister, Dean and two brothers, Ronald and Malcolm, besides a throng of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the First Presbyterian church at 2:30 p. m. Monday, conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. E. Cameron, assisted by Rev. Mr. Patterson and Rev. R. H. Park, and the choir of the First Presbyterian church. Interment was made in Elmwood cemetery.
