Mrs. A. J. Cecil, a well known Letts resident, passed away Friday night at 11:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Polling, at Ottumwa, Iowa. The remains were brought to Cranston Saturday, where the funeral was held from her home Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Mrs. Cecil's maiden name was Eliza Fulmer and she was 71 years of age at the time of her death. She had been ill for the past six months with cancer of the stomach, during which time she had been cared for at her daughter's home. She is survived by her husband, her two daughters, Mrs. Polling, of Ottumwa; Mrs. Effie Colbert, of Chillicothe, Iowa and by two sons, Fred Cecil of Cranston and Bert Cecil, of Keokuk.
