Page 1Edward P. Boorn, aged 15 years, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Boorn of this city, passed away Monday afternoon as a result of complications following an operation for appendicitis. The lad was taken ill with an attack of appendicitis last Christmas and was taken to Iowa City for an operation at the hospital there. Following the operation blood poisoning set in. Everything possible to relieve his condition was done and for a time he seemed to improve thought he never fully recovered his strength. About a week ago he suffered a relapse and rapidly grew worse until death resulted.
He is survived by his parents, one brother, Richard, at home and three sisters, Catherine and Alice at home and Mrs. Richard White Jr., of Deer Creek, Ill. The funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) morning at the Catholic church conducted by Father Houser of Sigourney. Interment was made in the Wapello cemetery.
