Muscatine news-Tribune: The funeral services over the body of Mrs. Mary Simpson, a resident of Walnut street, who passed way Sunday morning will be held at Grandview today. Mrs. Simpson, who is an aged resident of this city, passed away at the Hershey hospital at 5:15 Sunday morning. Death was due to old age and complication of diseases. She was born in Ohio in July, 1837, and died at the age of 75 years. She lived in this city for many years and had many friends here. She is survived by one brother, Jacob Teets, of Wapello, one son and two granddaughters.
