Jeremy,
Absolom Galland is the son of Artemus and Elinor Mott. He is found listed as one of their children in the 1870 census for Van Buren, Lee Co., Iowa. Artemus and Elinor's children were: Augustus b1850, Alonzo b@1852, Joshua b@1854, Absolom b@1857, John b@1859, Homer b@1862, Justin b@1865, Abijah b@1867 at that time.
Artemus and Elinor were married in 12/05/1848 Clark Co., MO.

Artemus' father was David, b1795
(s/o Matthew Gallant(Galland)and Hannah Fenno). His mother was Phebe Gandy. They were married 10/09/1813 Phelps, Madison Co., OH.

Sorry I have no other information Galland is not my direct ancestor line so I have not done overly much research on it. Only happened to have this information.
