I am working to try and bring Germans from the area of Wiesede/Upschoert to Iowa and will be going to Germany this September to make a presentation at the White Horse Restaurant in Wiesede, the restaurant that belonged to my great great grandfather Nanne Hanken. This is not my first trip, and I have cousins and friends there, so I am looking forward to this trip! I was in Upschoert for the 200th anniversary as were about fifteen other American's. My great grand mother on my mothers side was Meta Eilers from there. If I get this trip worked out, I am looking for others to meet with the people who come over, you might find a relative or three!
