Max L. Thomsen, age 87, of Olin, Iowa, died Sunday, October 29,1995 at Covenant Medical Center at Waterloo, Iowa, after a short illness. He was born on December 21,1907 at Husum, Schleswig Holstein, Germany, the son of Ludwig and Catherine Petersen Thomsen and received his education in Germany. In 1949 they purchased a farm near Olin where they farmed until Max semi-retired in 1971. He continued to be active on the farm until entering the care center in 1994. Mowing, gardening and splitting wood became hobbies to go along with card playing in his retirement years.
He is survived by his wife, Minna of Anamosa; three sons, Paul of Dubuque, Gordon and Gary, both of Olin; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Paul of Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
