Paul A. HOSTETLER, 61, native of Lockridge,died (sic) at 12:35 p.m. Monday at the Elm View Care Center in Burlington (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. The Behner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church or the Jefferson County Cancer Fund.
HOSTETLER spent most of his life as a farmer in the Lockridge and Douds communities. For the past four years he had been a service station attendant at Harold Norton's Standard Station in Fairfield.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, spending 18 months overseas in Okinawa, Midway and Pearl Harbor.
Paul A. HOSTETLER was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Lockridge. He was the son of Arthur J. and Hazel NELSON HOSTETLER. His marriage to Joan SHELTON took place Jan. 23, 1948, in Davenport. She survives.
Other survivors are one daughter, Cheryl FYE, Bourbon, Mo.; two sons, Terry P. HOSTETLER, Douds, and Douglas D. HOSTETLER, Dubuque; his mother, Hazel HOSTETLER, Fairfield.
Two brothers, Raymond HOSTETLER, Watertown, Conn., and Richard HOSTETLER, Lockridge; and a sister, Dorothy STEELE, Jackson, Calif, also survive.
