Bernice HOTCHKIN

FAIRFIELD -- Bernice Zella HOTCHKIN, 87, of York, Pa., died Dec. 17, 1997, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home.

She was born July 31, 1910, in Grinnell to Leonard and Anna LARSEN HALSTEAD. She married Odo B. HOTCHKIN on Nov. 24, 1932, at Rock Island, Ill. He died April 5, 1982.

She moved to Fairfield in 1936. She worked at Universal Producing Co. for many years and was a member of the Methodist church. She moved by Pennsylvania in 1985.

She is survived by three sons, Larry of Wever, Lynton and Randal of Dubuque; a daughter, Dee Anna CRANDALL of York, Pa.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Keith HALSTEAD of Bethany, Mo., and Kenneth HALSTEAD of Grinnell; and a sister, Helen HEETHER of Angola, Ind.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Edwin HALSTEAD; and a sister, Harriet EISELE.

A private service will be Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
