Page 2, Column 4YOUNG CHILD BADLY BURNED
Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer HOLMES Was Scolded This Morning. (sic)Little Glen HOLMES, the twenty-two-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer HOLMES of North Court street, was perhaps fatally burned this morning about ten o'clock while playing around home.
The mother had placed a bucket of scalding water on the floor of the kitchen, preparatory to scrubbing the floor, when the child entered unnoticed, and in some way fell backward into the pail.
The little fellow was badly scalded about the body and the real extend of the injuries cannot yet be determined. He appeared, however, to be doing nicely this afternoon.

Monday forenoon Mrs. Elmer HOLMES placed a bucket of hot water on the kitchen floor, preparatory to scrubbing. Glenn, the little twenty-two months old baby had entered the kitchen, unnoticed by the mother, and fell into the bucket of water scalding it severely. It was taken to the hospital where it died early Wednesday morning. A sad blow indeed, to the family, who have the sympathy of all.
