GEORGE W. HOLMES WAS BURIED HERE
Funeral Held Yesterday At The Free Methodist Church In Birmingham

The funeral services for George W. HOLMES, who died suddenly at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ura FORD at Birmingham Monday noon were held yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Free Methodist church in Birmingham. Rev. Behner conducted the last rites. The remains were brought to this city and interred in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. HOLMES was 73 years of age (sic - 71) and he was a highly respected citizen and a leader in the local Free Methodist church. Five children survive: Benjamin HOLMES of Davenport, Mrs. Katie JAMESON, Mrs. Ura FORD, Miss Nettie HOLMES and Elmer HOLMES of Birmingham.
