OBITUARY.
DOW.
Mrs. Margery Barker Dow was born at Thornton, Boone Co., Ind., Oct. 20, 1850. At the age of six years with seven brothers and four sisters, she came to Howard Co., Ia., with her parents who settled on a farm near where Cresco is located and has lived in and in the vicinity of Cresco since childhood.
Her parents were Quakers and the deceased lived and died in that faith. She was of a very retiring and quiet disposition and mingled in society very little. She was a great sufferer for a number of years but never complained.
Mrs. Dow was the mother of three children one of whom died in infancy. She is survived by one son, Wilbert L. Dow of Seattle, Wash., and a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Wendel of Rose Hill, Wash., two brothers, Amos E. Barker of Cresco, Ia., and John M. Barker of Portland, Oregon. She departed this life at Cresco, Ia., Aug. 9, 1919, aged 68 years.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. E. G. Copeland at the home of her brother, A. E. Barker, 330 Second Ave. West on Monday morning, Aug. 11th, at ten o’clock and interment was made at Oak Lawn cemetery.
