I don't know if Charley Olmstead is related to Frank & Emma (Duden) Olmstead. Charley was born Dec 1851 in Wisconsin to Charles T Olmstead, wife's name unknown. His sister, Mable/Mattie, was born Apr 1857 in IL and married a Grant(last name). A brother, George, born Mar 1852 (problem with the birthyears between Charley & George) in IL, George's wife's name was Almira. In the 1900 IA census all of these people are living in Webster City, IA. Charley has been married 25 years, has 3 children but wife is not listed. George & Almira have been married 5 years but no children. Mable/Mattie is widowed with 1 living child not living with her but the father, Charles T. Olmstead, born 1815 & a widower, is living with her. In 1910 IA census, Mattie and brother, Charles Jr, are now living in the same household.

If Frank Olmstead lived in the vicinity, just possibly he is related to this family. Finding an obituary for any of these Olmsteads may provide a clue.
