C. J. Christianson Passed Away

The entire community was shocked and bereaved when the news came Tuesday morning that at about one o'clock during the night Mr. Chris J. Christianson had passed away, death coming from cancer of the liver. Mr. Christianson had always been a strong, robust man. But last fall he became a victim of the dreaded cancer and has failed very rapidly. He was recently taken to Rochester, Minn., hospital, in the hopes that an operation would relieve him, but the surgeons found no hope and could not operate. For some time he had been in very critical condition, unable to take nourishment, and death finally came to end his sufferings.

Mr. Christianson was born in Illinois October 26, 1855. In 1857 his parents moved to Iowa, locating on the farm three miles east and half a mile north of Randall. He was married July 14, 1893, and with his wife lived on the east farm until nine years ago when they moved to the old Boyd farm in Randall. He was 55 years, 6 months and 19 days of age at the time of his death, passing away just in the prime of life, and just when he was anticipating spending a few years of well-earned leisure, traveling with his wife and enjoying the fruits of their years of industrious and conscientious work.

Mr. Christianson leaves a wife and one daughter to mourn his death, besides hosts of friends in this vicinity who have know him all his life, and who always esteemed, and respected him very highly as an honest, industrious man, a good and worthy citizen and a kind and accommodating neighbor. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of all in this vicinity.

The funeral services will be held this afternoon at one o'clock from the Randall church.
