Funeral services were held this afternoon at one o'clock from the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. . H. Gifford, and the boy was laid at rest in Evergreen cemetery.
Francis B. Tallman, son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Tallman, was born in St. Joseph county, Indiana, April 24 days old at the time of his death. The family moved to Marshall county, Iowa, 1855, homesteading there, and was one of the pioneer families of that county. In 1870 they moved to Nebraska, and two years later moved back to Iowa, locating in Boone where the mother of the deceased still resides. Mr. Tallman resided in Nevada, Jewell, in Dakota, and again in Jewell, having lived here continuously for the past 22 years.
He was married Jan. 31st, 1877, to Miss Annetta McKim of Nevada, and to this union four sons and one daughter were born, Lowell C. of Marshalltown, George A., of Eagle Grove, Charles C., of Ames, Mrs. H. P. Moon, Mrs. J. H. Graham, and Mrs. James B. Ingersoll, all of Boone, and Mrs. A. L. Cleaver, of Omaha.
Mr. Tallman was a member of the order of Workman, of Jewell, of which he was one of the earliest members. The members of this order participated in the burial ceremonies this afternoon.
The Record joins the hosts of friends of the bereaved family in extending to them sincere sympathy in their sorrow.
