DEATH OF JOHN BLAIR

On Wednesday afternoon of last week, November 9th, John Blair unexpectedly passed away at his home east of Ellsworth. The deceased was about eighty years of age and was quite feeble, having been in quite poor health foe some time. The funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the M. E. church at Ellsworth, Rev. Bump of Jewell conducting the service. The remains were laid at rest in the Ellsworth cemetery.

John Blair was born n Kildrain, Ireland in 1830 and came to America in 1865, settling in Illinois. In 1868 he was married and in 1877 moved to Iowa settling on the farm east of Ellsworth where he made his home until his death. To Mr. and Mrs. Blair the following children were born: Frank Blair and Mrs. Mary Crawford of Webster City, Mrs. Etta Ega, of Mendota, Ill., Mrs. Sadie Rude, Mrs. Ollie Nelson, William, Charles, John, Myron and Ella Blair of Ellsworth. All the children and his wife survive him to mourn his loss and to whom hosts of friends extend sincere sympathy.
