CHAS. A. HARMAN IS DEAD
On Thursday afternoon of last week, May 19th, at about two o'clock Chas. A. Harman, living in the east part of Jewell, breathed his last. Death came of a complication of Brights Disease and heart trouble, after a sickness extending through all the past winter and spring. Mr. Harman had been in very low health and early this spring was taken to Des Moines for an operation. He has gradually weakened, and although at time apparently became stronger, failed to recover and finally passed away. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. P. L. Smith, pastor of the M. E. church from the home and from the church. The remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery here.
Mr. Harman was a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. T Harman, who recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. He was born July 18th, 1868, and was nearly 42 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, his wife and three children, and by one sister and three brothers. Hosts of friends in Jewell and vicinity, who have always liked the genial, good natured, industrious friend and neighbor, sincerely regret his death, and join the Record in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
