I am still looking to discover what the name of A. Van Scyoc really was.

What happened to this man in approx 1860? Did he go to California, to be with his sons?

Did he just die in Fremont County, Iowa? If this is true then no one has found a grave or headstone for him.

We have five children in the family of A. Van Scyoc. Estelle, Franklin, Jackson, Ben and Almiria.

Who are the parents of Almiria? Did she have a sister named Hester?
