Dee,

Have lots more info on Daniel Mahony's family. His father, Daniel ("1", as I refer to him) moved to Dubuque County in 1862 or 1864 to join his eldest son, Daniel ("2"). Daniel (1) had come to the US in about 1851 and made his way to New Orleans, where he was met by his wife, Catherine Lane Mahony and their three surviving children (Daniel 2, Catherine and Jeremiah) in 1853. You may already know all of this -- but if not, a lot of work has been done on this family. They started out in Donoughmore Parish, Co. Cork, Ireland
