SERIOUS ACCIDENT-At noon on Thursday a young cow with calf which Mr. John Klinkner purchased a few days ago for the use of the family, nearly killed Mrs. Klinkner in a fit of fright and anger. It appears that the creature had never been milked by a woman and no sooner had she set eyes upon Mrs. Klinkner as she entered the stable to milk her than she rushed forward and struck her to the ground with her horns and as Mrs. Klinkner lay helplessly upon her back severely gored her. Mr. Klinkner arrived at the stable just in time to prevent a tragedy being enacted then and there. He seized the enraged animal by the horns and by main force drove her away from his wife. A surgeon being called it was found that Mrs. Klinkner had received a severe wound on the side of her head behind the ear, and other injuries about the abdomen besides a serious bruise in the pit of the stomach. She had been very feeble since, but it is thought she will recover.
