Be it remembered, that on this 12th day of June, 1903:
I, Catherine A. Earnest of Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, being of sound mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
I. And first I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.
II. To my Granddaughter, Maud Earnest of Des Moines County, Iowa, I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $1000 to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named, when she arrives at the said age of twenty-five years, however, should my executors consider it proper and necessary for the said Maud Earnest to have and receive said sum of $1000 or any part thereof before she arrives at the age of twenty-five years they may pay her said sum or any part thereof at any time.
Should my said granddaughter, Maud Earnest, die before she becomes twenty-five years of age or before said $1000 is paid to her, it is my will, that the said $1000 or whatever amount has not beon paid to said Maud Earnest shall be equally divided between my two sons Marcus B. Earnest and Charles G. Earnest in addition to the provisions of the next paragraph hereof.
III. All therest, residue and remainder of all the property, real, personal and mixed whatsoever and wheresoever of which I shall die seized or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I give devise and bequeath, share and share alike to my sons, Marcus B. Earnest and Charles C. Earnest, of Burlington, Iowa, and to their heirs and assigns forever.
And last I do nominate and appoint as my executors my said two sons Marcus B. Earnest and Charles G. Earnest and it is my will and desire that they be exempted from giving bonds as such executors.
Witness my hand this 12th day of June, 1903.

The signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Catharine Earnest as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names at her request and express direction, as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said testatrix and of each other at Burlington, Iowa, this 12th day of June, 1903.
