Ocie Stevig
Ocie Ellen Stevig, 92, Pulaski, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 1986, at the long-term care center at the Davis County Hospital.
She was born May 9, 1893 in Bladensburg to Alexander J. and Rebekah Pearson Burnough. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pulaski Mennonite Church and Tri R. Club of Pulaski.
She married Samuel S. Stevig on May 26, 1913 in Ottumwa. He died Sept. 30, 1970.
Survivors include two sons, John of Morton, Ill. and Lloyd of Columbus, Ind.; four daughters, Viola Sporer of Ottumwa, Marjorie Trachsel and Georgia Wells of Pulaski and Rebeccah Sinkey of Boulder, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a great-step-grandchild; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held today at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, conducted by the Rev. Roy Kaufman. Burial was in the Pulaski Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the long-term care center at the Davis County Hospital.
