Lizzie Mae Belle Stice

Lizzie Mae Belle Thoman Stice was born July 2, 1904, in Wilmathsville, Missouri, in Schuyler County, the eldest daughter of Herman and Cynthia Ann (Arnold) Thoman. She passed away April 1, 1984, at LaHarpe Extended Care Center, LaHarpe, Illinois, at the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage to Marcus Crawford Stice at Memphis, Missouri, May 12, 1922. To This union, a son, Billy Eugene Stice was born.

Most of her life was spent in Memphis, having moved when a young girl from Schuyler to Scotland County with her parents and family.

At the age of 16 she was baptized in the First Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri of which she remains a member.

Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Billy and wife, Margaret, three granddaughters and husbands, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; Also two brothers, Fred and John Thoman; two sisters, Edna Martin and Pauline Hagmeier and husband, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Marcus, who passed away February 22, 1977, her parents, her sister, Letha, brother, Paul Rex and an infant brother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 4, 1984, in the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Richard Boyd officiated. Organist was Pam Tate and Richard Boyd was soloist. Body bearers were Jess Rockhold, Don Chancellor, Miles Chancellor, Russell Cravens, Jr. Snodgrass and Earl Craig. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Arrangements were by Payne-Gerth Chapel.
