Welton: Mrs. Lucy L. VanHorn
Mrs. Lucy L. VanHorn, 84, longtime Welton community leader, died at Low Moor nursing home at 6 pm Tuesday where she had been a patient several weeks after suffering frail health for several months. The body is in the Hanrahan funeral home.Clinton Herald, 26 Oct 1957, pg 8

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy VanHorn of Welton were conducted Friday in the Hanrahan funeral home, Rev. Carroll Hill of Milton, Wis., pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist church there, was in charge. Harry Hicks of Maquoketa was vocalist, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. John Wantz, Maquoketa.
Pallbearers were William Jones, Jr., Charles Rasmussen, Ray Furrow, Roy Furrow, Donald Wendel and Edward Ruggelberg. Mrs. Edward Fuller, Mrs. Arlan Lass and Mrs. Charles Rasmussen were in charge of flowers.

Rev. Carroll Hill of Milton, who conducted the funeral in Hanrahan funeral home, DeWitt, lived in Welton until the early 1930s while his father, Rev. Claude Hill, served as pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist church.Source: FamilySearch
