DIED - At Strawberry Point, July 16, 1896, Elisha B. Gardner, aged 73 years, 7 months and 14 days.

Strawberry Point Press - In the death of E.B. Gardner, Strawberry Point has lost one of its oldest and best citizens. He came here 43 years ago, one of the very first settlers of the town. He built the first house on Elkader street and has resided here ever since, a prominent and highly respected citizen. His influence was ever in the right direction and the town and the country are better for his having lived in them.
