Milo Wilkeim Louis Kalke
Farmersburg—Milo Wilkeim Louis Kalke, 82, a former Clayton County Farmer, died April 26, 1984, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. He was born July 20, 1901, in Clayton County, the son of Fritz and Anna (Mahnke) Kalke. He was baptized October 6, 1901, and confirmed March 2, 1915, at Clayton Centre, Iowa.
He married Lucy Nuehring, December 10, 1923. She died October 27, 1925. On September 28, 1927, he married Viola Kamin and farmed in Clayton County, four years before moving to the Floyd vicinity. He farmed there until retirement in 1973 and they moved to Nashua, where his wife Viola died.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Choffels, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mrs. Lloyd ( Vivian) Decker, Floyd, Mrs. Roger (Nona) Smith, Cedar Falls, a brother, Alvin Kalke, New Richland, Minnesota, five sisters, Elta Eberhardt, Elkader, Nelda Schuety, Chicago, Illinois, Frieda Schuette, Guttenburg, Edna Henning, Farmersburg, and Hulda Baade, Elkader, four grandsons, three granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his two wives, his parents, three brothers, and three sisters, two of the sisters were as infants.
