Another Pioneer Settler Has Gone to His Reward

John Johnson departed this life April 26th in the ripe old age of eighty years, ten months and one day. He lived upon his farm in section 31 Cedar township with his son, Nels Johnson.

The funeral occurred from his late residence and from the Swedish Baptist church on last Sunday afternoon. The Revs. J. P. Nordstrom, of Marcus, and Lindahl, of Cherokee, officiating. The deceased united with the Lutheran church, north of Meriden in 1885 and has been a lifelong, true, and consistent member.

He leaves two children to mourn his demise, Nels Johnson and Mrs. Hannah Helstrom besides many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Peace to his memory.
