G. Z. DAVENPORT
ALTA – Goldman Zion Davenport was born in Illinois and died Friday, Sept. 30, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. J. Pederson, Newell, Iowa at the age of 77 years.

He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Christensen in 1899, and they spent the greater part of their married life in Alta. Mr. Davenport was in the draying business for many years and also was employed by the post office department in carrying mail. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. Mrs. Davenport died in 1944.

Three children survive. Mrs. C. J. Pederson of Newell; Mrs. Henry Mayo of Borger, Texas; Goldman Davenport of Fort Dodge; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Larson funeral home. Bearers were Eck Clark, Verner Matsen, Ned Dahl, Ross Anderson, Clyde Peterson and Harry Ruppel.
