Death of Jacob Foust
On Tuesday we made mention of the death of Jacob Foust, an old pioneer Jacob Foust, an old pioneer of the county, which occurred on Saturday last. Mr. Foust's death was very sudden. He had been visiting his eldest daughter, Mrs. Ellwood Andrews, near Evanston, this state. Together with his son-in-law he was driving to his home in Buena Vista County when he suddenly threw up his hands and expired in the vehicle. His death was due to dropsy, but for several weeks he had been in very good health and spirits. The remains were taken to his home and on Tuesday were interred at Aurelia. The deceased was born in Center County, Pa., August 9, 1846, and came to Cherokee some thirty years ago. W. T. Foust, Henry Foust and wife and Mrs. Abe Campbell drove to his home in Buena Vista County but finding he had died away from home they returned to Aurelia and were present at the funeral services. A wife and seven children, the youngest 20 years of age, are left to mourn. Besides the brothers here he has two sisters in Washington, Mrs. A. Campbell and Mrs. A. Wamsley.
