MRS. WILLARD MANGOLD
ALTA – Edith Martina Swanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Swanson was born near Schaller, Ia., January 28, 1916, and passed away March 8 at the age of 33 years, 1 month and 8 days. She had been in ill health the past two years.

Her entire life was spent in the vicinity of Alta and Linn Grove communities. She attended school at Alta, graduating with the class of 1934.

Om March 7, 1936, she married Willard R. Mangold and to this union three daughters were born, Betty Lavonne, Carolyn, Ann and Gayle Annette.

She was confirmed by rev. K. G. Hatlen and became a member of the Trinity Lutheran church at Linn Grove.

Surviving are her husband, Willard; three daughters; her mother, Mrs. Clara Ekblom, of Alta; three sisters, Mrs. E. H. Presto of Chicago, Mrs. H. J. Lee of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Ernest Johnson of Alta; four brothers, Carl H. Swanson of Owensboro, Ky., Eric G. Swanson of Linn Grove; S. Sgt. Evert L. Ekblom of Shreveport, La., and Raymond Elblom of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her father, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held March 11 from Trinity Lutheran church at Linn Grove, with Rev. K. G. Hatlen in charge. Bearers were Gunnar Johnson, Lester Johnson, Carl Emil Johnson, Elmer Selk, Martin Rehnstrom and Arlo Nelson.
