MRS. JOHN SWANSON
ALTA – Mrs. Selma Swanson, 84, died March 12, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph McKenzie, Lincoln, Neb., after a long illness. She was born in Sweden and came to Alta in January, 1865.

She was married to John Swanson in Alta January 12, 1885 and they operated a garage in Alta for many years. Mr. Swanson died in 1941. Mrs. Swanson left Alta after her husband’s death and made her home with her children. She was also preceded in death by one son.

She is survived by four children, Orris, Buffalo, New York; Leslie and Elsie McKenzie of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. LeRoy Cahill of Laurens; also eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 16 from the Wilkinson funeral home. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.
