Kathleen Ione Pals, 52, of 410 East Bow Dr., Cherokee, died Sunday in St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack in Cherokee. Services will be held Wednesday at the Meriden Evangelical Free Church, Meriden, Iowa. Her body will be cremated following the funeral.

She was born February 21, 1946, in Baker, Montana to Mr. and Mrs. William Sheehan. Following graduation from high school she attended Pillsbury College in Owatonna, Minnesota for two years. On April 26, 1974, she married Clifford Pals in St. Paul, Minnesota. Kathy worked as a homemaker and nurse’s aide for several years. She was a member of the Meriden Evangelical Free Church and Tone Circle. She enjoyed music and enjoyed singing at church, weddings, funerals, and other events. She enjoyed flowers and birdwatching.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Margaret Ann Pals, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Pamela Karin Pals, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jenny Marie Pals, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jenny Marie Pals, of Cherokee; one brother, Bill Sheehan, and his wife, Dellanita, of Richland, Washington; six sisters, Anne Shelden, of Longmont, Colorado; Ruth Drown, of Modesto, California; Helen Van Eaton, and her husband, James; of Rustburg, Virginia; Margaret Leslie, and her husband, David, of Alpena, Michigan; Patricia Lindsay, and her husband, Dan, of Lynchburg, Virginia; Michal Mast, of Claremore, Oklahoma; one grandson, Jason Pals.
