Claudene Dunsmoor Martin, 83, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Sunday, March 8, 1998, in the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia, Iowa following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12 at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee.

Mrs. Martin was born March 5, 1915, in Cherokee, Iowa to Claude and Nellor (Dunsmoor) Smith. She was educated in Cherokee and graduated from Wilson High School, Cherokee, in 1933. On October 11, 1940, she married Loyal R. Martin in Cherokee. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church and P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Survivors include her husband, Loyal; a daughter, Claudia Sue and her husband, Theodore Ellis Jr., Brewster, Mass., a son, Mark Martin, Littleton, Colorado; four grandchildren: Timothy and Jennifer Ellis; and Nicholas and Michael Martin.
