Carrie E. Lewis, 93, Storm Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1991, at Buena Vista Manor, Storm Lake.

Services will be on Friday at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home, Storm Lake. The burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia.

She was born on June 22, 1898, at Cherokee to Frank D. and Mary Ann Mummert Sanborn. She married Oscar Lewis on March 22, 1919, in Sioux City.

They farmed near Aurelia in their early married life and later farmed near Newell, Sac City and Storm Lake before retiring and moving to Storm Lake in 1973.

Carrie is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Bonnie) Paeper of Newell; one grandson; two granddaughters; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one sister, Leta Blizzard of Fresno, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar; one son, Donald; one brother, Leon; an infant twin brother; and three sisters, Jenny, Ruby and Ruth. (Source: Former Cherokee County Historical Society scrapbook clipping hand dated 11-8-91)
