Mrs. Larry (Marguerite) Lentz, 75, Cherokee, died Friday, June 18, at University Hospital in Omaha, Neb. following surgery.

Services were held Monday, June 21, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee. The burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee. A rosary was recited Sunday by the Catholic Daughters of America, and a parish scripture service was also held Sunday at the Greenwood Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 12, 1917, in Foster to Alfred and Eliza (Anderson) Sutton. She graduated from Albia High School in 1936. She moved to Cherokee in 1945. On September 8, 1946, she married Larry Lentz in Cherokee. She worked for the Cherokee Courier and later for the Cherokee Daily Times for many years. Marguerite was a volunteer at the Work Activity Center and a member of the parish caring group. She was a former officer of the Catholic Daughters of America, a member of the WaTanYe Club, and was a volunteer at area nursing homes.

Survivors include: her husband, Larry; two step-daughters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Carlson, Cherokee, and Mrs. Donald (Eileen) Durst, Spencer; one brother, Floyd Sutton, Deerfield, Ill.; two sisters, Violet Morrison and LaVera Broderson, both of Waterloo; nine step-grandsons; 12 step-great grandchildren.
