Dennis Lundsgaard, 65, of rural Cherokee, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 10, 1995, due to a farming accident.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13 from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. The burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee.

Dennis was born March 9, 1930, at Ruskin, Nebraska to Emil and Mabel (Krogh) Lundsgaard. He graduated from Wilson High School, Cherokee, in 1947 and from Syracuse University in 1952. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving from January of 1951 until January 1955. He was married to JoAnne Peterson on December 2, 1956, at Marcus, Iowa. His home was on a farm in Pilot Township, and he had lived in Cherokee County since 1983. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and had served on the Church Board. He was a member of the Aurelia Farmer’s Cooperative Board, the Agri Industries Board, the Federal Farm Credit Board, and the Cattleman’s Association Board.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne; three sons: Michael Lundsgaard, Los Angeles, California; Timothy Lundsgaard and his wife Joyce, Cherokee; Steven Lundsgaard and his wife Mary, Cherokee; four grandchildren: Kyle and Julie Lundsgaard and Tyler and Jenna Lundsgaard; also four brothers: Warren Lundsgaard and his wife Stephanie, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Conrad Lundsgaard and his wife Marlene, Aurelia, Iowa; E. Joe Lundsgaard and his wife Jan, Cherokee; and Dr. Douglas Lundsgaard and his wife Victoria, Eugene, Oregon.
