Mrs. Jeanie Leonard, 83, was born in Dunbartanshire, Scotland in December 1868 and died in Cherokee, Iowa, Jan. 14, 1952.

She was the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Macindoe. With her parents, she crossed the Atlantic to Canada in 1875. After six years in Canada, she moved to Cherokee county in 1881 and had lived here since that time.

On Nov. 8, 1889, she was married to Frank F. Leonard. Mrs. Leonard was a Presbyterian church member and during her younger years was active in its work and in the social union.

Her survivors include: four children – Mrs. Almeda Berry, Mrs. Irene Leeds, Marvin, all of Cherokee, Wayne of Albuquerque, N. Mex.: two grandchildren – Lou Ann and Kay of Albuquerque; a sister – Mrs. E. A. Simons, Cherokee. (Source: Cherokee Daily Times, Tues., Feb. 5, 1952, pg. 6)
