Funeral services for Kevin Wayne Ralfs, 27, Wilton, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1989 at the Lacock Funeral home in Durant, with the Rev D. L. Gardella officiating. Deb Mohr is organist and Rita Hart is the vocalist. Pallbearers are Mark Schmidt, Kraig Timmerman, Kevin Timmerman, Rob Bohnsack, Mike Weih, Colin Hermiston, Scott Alpen and Rick Williams. Burial will be in the Durant cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Kevin Ralfs died Jan.8 in Iowa City, after collapsing during a recreational basketball game in Tipton.
The son of Wayne and Eunice Brus Ralfs, he was born May 16, 1961 in Davenport. He graduated from Bennett high school in 1979 and from the University of Iowa in 1983. He was a farmer and a member of the Bennett Community club and the Cedar County Cattleman's association. He was an avid basketball player and jogger.
Mr. Ralfs is survived by his parents of Bennett, a sister, Kim Ralfs, Escondido, Calif.; a brother, Steven, Wilton; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ralfs, Durant.
