Funeral services for Mrs. Ambert (Carrie) Hopperstad, 86, former West Branch resident, were held at the Bethany Lutheran church, West Branch, Nov. 29 with the Rev. Mary Schweiter and the Rev. Eldon Winker officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery. Pallbearers were Karl Vohringer, Willard Smith, Ardell and Jan Christensen, Harvey Jensen and Mick Sondergard. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Hopperstad died at St. Mary's Health center, St. Louis, Mo. Nov. 26.

The daughter of Christian and Caroline Anderson Christensen, she was born in Cedar county Nov. 19, 1902. A graduate of Cornell college, she taught at Burlington, Mediapolis and Wilton, retiring in 1974. She was married to Ambert Hopperstad at West Branch June 20, 1932. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Stortz, St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Louis, Texas; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
