Funeral services for Norman L. Ford, Sr., 92, Tipton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 27, 198 at the South Bethel Methodist church, with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Evelyn Nebergall is the organist and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Weih are the vocalists. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Nebergall and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schwitzer are in charge of flowers. Pallbearers are Dennis, Dean, Neil and Norlan Ford, Randy Bormann and George Martin. Burial is in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Mr. Ford died July 24 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness.
The son of William A. and Elizabeth E. Ford, he was born Feb. 29, 1896 near Tipton. He attended rural Cedar county schools. He married Mary E. Christian Feb. 8, 1927 at the Methodist parsonage in Tipton. She died June 9, 1988.
Mr. Ford was a farmer in Jefferson County, Ia. from 1918 to 1925 and spent most of his life in rural Tipton. He was a member of the South Bethel Methodist church.
He is survived by a daughter, Grace Ford, Marion; 2 sons, Dwain Ford and Norman Ford, Jr., both of Tipton; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 sisters and a brother.
