Funeral services for Fred Duffe, 85, Tipton, were held Dec. 22 at Lacock Funeral Home in Wilton, with the Rev. Robert J. Davis Mayo officiating. Deb Mohr was the organist and pallbearers were Larry and Randy Duffe, Dennis Marolf, Robert and William Gunsolley and Bill Lenker. Honorary pallbearers were Lawrence and Bernard Duffe, Kenneth Marolf, Louis Cooling and Clarence Duffe. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery.
Mr. Duffe died Dec. 18 at the rural Tipton home of his daughter.
The son of Frank A. and Anna Louise Marolf Duffe, he was born Aug. 24, 1902 in Wilton. He married Eleanor Kinnan Feb. 18, 1946 in Illinois. She died in 1963. In 1974 he married Ursula Bolton. She also preceded him in death.
Mr. Duffe was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Wilton. He had worked as a trucker, had retired from farming and worked at Burge hall at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Marsha) Schulty, Tipton; 3 grandsons and one sister, Freda Steen, West Liberty. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
