Funeral services for Marvel L. Woode, 55, Tipton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31 at Sheets and Son Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 5 and 5:30 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 30 and 9 a.m. to service time Dec. 31 at Sheets and Son. Burial will be in the Red Oak cemetery.

Mrs. Woode died Dec. 28, 1987 at her home in Tipton.

Marvel Rickard married Mearl Woode in 1950 in Kahoka, Mo. She was employed as a teachers aide in the Tipton Community Middle school for 18 years.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Woode is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Pam) Wilkerson, West Branch; 3 sons, Ken, DeForest, Wis.; Marvin, Cedar Rapids and Roger, Altamonte Springs, Fla.; 4 grandchildren; her mother, Bernice Sharp, Tipton and a brother, Robert Rickard, Clarendon Hills, Ill.
