Shoal Creek originally included much of southwestern Appanoose County and eastern Wayne County. As townships were created, Shoal Creek ended up as the current Lincoln Township. Jacob Stoner's property was at the western edge of the current village of Jerome. He sold the land for the first school in Jerome and he sold the land for the original cemetery in Jerome. If you go to the GLO-BLM site, you should be able to find his original land purchase in Shoal Creek township. Go to my blog, The Jerome Journal, and search for Jacob Stoner and other Stoner names. It has some information on them.
