Mrs. Walter Keefe died Thursday morning, August 8, 1912 at 4:45 in Creston, following an operation for cancer. The remains were brought to Corning and taken to the home of Mrs. Keefe’s parent, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kepner, where the funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. F. Roper, pastor of the Corning Baptist Church, conducted the services and interment was made in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Miss Eva Ina Keeper, was born near Bridgewater in Adair County, iowa, January 4, 1878. She remained in the place of her birth until 1892 when she moved with her parents to Carl vicinity. In 1895 the family came to Corning which has since been the home of the deceased. She was married to Walter Keefe in February 1896 in this city, Rev A. M. Beam performing the ceremony. four children were born to Mr. and Mr. Keefe. they are Artie, Edna, Kenneth, and Sadie, who with their father survived their mother. Mrs. Keefe also leaves her parents, four brothers, Percy Kepner of Creston, Volley and Eddie of Aurora, Nebraska, and Tracy of Corning; also one sister, Miss May Kepner of Corning.
