Petty Officer Blythe served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died as a result of third degree multiple burns while in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country.

Howard Carl Bramer was born Sept. 10, 1919 to Fred C. and Ava Jane Streeper Bramer. He died Oct. 19, 1943 and is buried in Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, IA.
Petty Officer Bramer served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) and was killed on board that ship in an air crash near Pearl Harbor.

Kenneth John “Kenny” Brokens was born Aug. 19, 1927 to William Harms and Anna Laura Balster Brokens. He died July 17, 2013 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, IA.
Kenny served in the Philippine Islands with the U.S. Navy in World War II. Another brother, Robert Paul Brokens worked at Consolidated Aircraft during World War II building B-24 bombers.

Loren Eugene Byam was born Nov. 19, 1910 to Elwyn S. and Margaret Susan Bindner Byam. He died Aug. 29, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint Avold, France. Sgt. Byam served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 20th Bomber Squadron, 2nd Bomber Group, Heavy. He was KIA and awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
