What's New at Winneshiek County IAGenWeb
October 2024 Additions and Improvements
- Began standardizing the look and feel of site pages (e.g. the Main and the This-n-That pages.)
- Published a complete project titled Winneshiek County Patents 1861-1999. The project lists patents that have been awarded to Winneshiek County citizens within those years by the U.S. Patent Office. The majority of data comes from the Davenport Public Library database of Iowa Patents & Inventors, with input from the Iowa State University University Library Patents: A How-To-Find Guide The completed project includes images of the original patent drawing.
October 2023 Additions and Improvements
- Uploaded obituaries transcribed from the Decorah Republican for a one-year period, August 1909 through July 1910. The Obituary Summary Page is updated to include a complete dataset of the names, dates of birth and death, and family relationships of the persons whose obituaries were published in that one-year period.

April 2022 Additions and Improvements
- Added an updated list of the 1857 members of Our Lady of Seven Dolors parish in Festina, submitted by Joe Tillman. Joe has corrected the spelling of several names and done some research on the family relationships of these early church members. New List
July 2021 Additions and Improvements
- Added Garfield Family aka Kruse Farm Cemetery, a small but complete dataset Cemetery
- This cemetery and its gravestone photos were also added as a new cemetery at the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project. IGPP
