"Dies Suddenly at the Home of Her Daughter, Tuesday"
Mrs. Martin Novak, 70, a pioneer settler of Webster County, died very
suddenly Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William
Hepperle, four miles north of the city. A heart attack was the cause of death.
Mrs. Novak who lived at 2123 Seventh Avenue North, had been visiting her
daughter in the country for a few days and had planned to return home Tuesday
afternoon. She apparently had been in her usual health until taken suddenly
ill the early part of the afternoon with a heart attack which caused her
death.
She came to Webster County with her parents, the Late Mr. and Mrs. Michael
Lohr, when she was a little girl. Her marriage to Martin Novak took place May
7, 1880. Mr. Novak died April 21, 1938. Had he lived until May 7 of that
year, they would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary, an
occasion to which they had looked forward with great anticipation.
Mrs. Novak is survived by six children. They are Mrs. Pat Husske of Medelia,
MN, Mrs. G. E. Campbell of Bovy, MN, Mrs. Otto Block and Mrs. Fred Block of
Danube, MN; Lawrence of Gilmore City and Mrs. Hepperle of Fort Dodge. Two
